About
I'm a singer-songwriter based in New Haven, Connecticut. My songs are conveyed through vocals, acoustic guitar, and often harmonica. I play my original songs as well those from my favorite songwriters: Neil Young, Paul Simon, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, and others. The songs I write blend folk, rock, and blues. My lyrics are varied, but themes of nature and humankind's relationship with the rest of life on earth are frequent. In addition to music, I have a career in conservation biology.

I started writing songs and composing and recording music in my teens. I've always been a creator. Before music, it was Legos. I've also always had a pronounced interest in and love for nature, wild animals, and wild places. I consider myself both a deep thinker and a big picture thinker. I have strong views about how humankind acts on our wonderful planet. Songwriting has always been a critical tool for self expression and a way for me to process all types of feelings, beliefs, and ideas. Through songwriting, I hope to help others regulate themselves, but also to open peoples' minds, offer new perspectives, opportunities for introspection, and to embrace compassion for oneself, others, our planet, and all human and nonhuman life.

I've been in a number of bands and acoustic duos over the years as a drummer, guitarist, and singer. After gigging frequently with my former acoustic duo, Noelle & Tyler, over the first half of the 2020's, I'm now focused on performing as a solo artist. Recordings of my songs are homemade and "organic" in that they don't use any type of pitch or timing correction. I'm more concerned with self expression in a pure and authentic way than with sounding like music that's mainstream and popular today. Though I make a number of instrumental recordings, my live performances feature singer-songwriter style works that include vocals.
