We documented four road-killed birds during our survey earlier this week. Still, there has been no concrete evidence of terrestrial terrapin activity, though several possible turtle nest test holes were observed again. One of the birds documented today looked like a clapper rail. This may have been one of the rails that was previously documented, though it was tens of meters down the road from its original location. It's possible that a scavenger could have moved it, or it may be a different individual.
Here's a photo of the marsh from Monday. The tide was rapidly retreating during the survey, and no terrapins were seen swimming in the marsh this time.
